From Carol Dahoney
Join us at noon on Tuesday, September 18, for our monthly Super Seniors luncheon and program featuring our own Lee Ann Roeder, who, along with Bailee Reynolds, will talk about Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center in Zionsville.
If you aren't familiar with therapeutic riding, it's a form of equine therapy that uses a horse to help individuals who have physical, cognitive and/or behavioral challenges. Horses make terrific therapy partners because they can perceive minute changes in a person through body language, tone of voice or even biochemistry. They also recognize pain or fear.
Lee Ann and Bailee will share ways that Morning Dove uses equine therapies to help people who may be on the Autism spectrum, have Down Syndrome, suffer from anxiety, be recovering from injuries, have been identified as at-risk by their schools, or who are undergoing addiction rehabilitation.
Super Seniors will be providing lunch for a voluntary contribution of $5. Most importantly, you do NOT have to be 65 to attend Super Seniors events. We welcome people of any age to show up, bring a smile and join in our fun.
